David Valis

He deals with the branch of reliability & maintainability analysis, risk assessment of technical systems as well as with the vetronics of both military and civilian vehicles. He obtained his “Master degree, 2000” and “Ph.D., degree, 2003” at the Brno Military Academy. He also cooperates in the branch of his interest while teaching and doing research at the Technical University in Liberec and at the Brno University of Technology. The subjects of teaching are: Fundamentals of system dependability, Risk management, Methods of risk assessment, Applied techniques of reliability and maintainability analysis, Reliability of power systems, Introduction into reliability and safety engineering.

 

His major fields

  • methods of dynamic reliability assessment (MA, FTA),

  • predictive risk/safety analysis (PHA, OSHA, JSA, QA)

  • methods of reliability and safety/risk prove.

He has helped to prepare several scientific conferences (Dependability, wearing and diagnostics 2002, 2005, 2006, 2007; FLINS 2008). Mr. Valis is a member of the international standardization organization IEC/ISO for the field of dependability/safety. Mr. Valis has published results of his work at several international and national conferences, and in various technical journals.
